Petticoat love!

      Outfit details: all vintage thrifted!

Hello all!

So a few weeks ago, I thrifted my very first petticoat. I had been looking for weeks! It just occurred to me how fun it must be to wear one. So I was in shock when I found one. Well here is my first look wearing a petticoat. Cheers to many to come! Everything from this look is thrifted and vintage. I know I sound like an old record.

If you go on ebay you can find some nice ones at different prices but they are so worth it. That is if you love a little volume.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant summer!

Peach, red and some sort of blue!

     Outfit details: All vintage and thrifted!

Sometimes I wonder why I did not titled my blog "all vintage and thrifted." Ok so it's not such a great title, but it's true! all I wear is thrifted clothes. I've tried buying new, but the quality is not there. Not to mention the million reasons why I prefer to buy thrifted clothes. They are cheaper, vintage clothes have greater quality,awesome way to recycle (or is it re-use?), I find tons of unique pieces, and the list can go on...

Anywayyyyy, so I don't think I've mentioned that my husband and I have been trying to buy a house since April 2012. This house was a short-sale. We were told that short-sells can take up to 9 months. We really didn't care since we fell in love with house. The price was great too. We decided to wait and use that time to save money for the reconstructions we would have to do if we got the house. Well almost 13 months later filled, with prayer and patience, I am happy to announce that we got the house!!!

So these news may have not been news to my readers who also follow me on Instagram,  but let me tell you the reconstructions have been tiring, fun, and exciting. I hope to post pictures soon.

You can now imagine what my summer may look like. We have no big vacation plans other then fixing our new home and to move in soon.

What do plan to do this summer?

When you find treasures in your own closet...

{Dress thrifted vintage, belt thrifted vintage, purse thrifted vintage, shoes thrifted}

It's been a bit chilly here in Chicago so long sleeve it was!

I read a quote the other day it said: "someone else is happy with less then what you have."

It struck me because I've noticed that I have been wanting to buy so many things on amazon that I thought it would be nice to own. I hardly ever buy new for various reasons, so this was strange. Wanting these items made anxious for job. I'm not saying its wrong to want things but reading this message helped me accept and remember that I don't HAVE to have everything I see.

I guess this is one of my main reasons why I don't like to be "on trend." It's hard to stay up to date with fashion when you don't have the right resources. So I came up with my own style. I wear what I truly want and not what the media throws at me (unless I really like it and can afford it).
